[ARTICLE] The Man Leading Change at the Post Office and Retiring Horizon: A Story of Change at the Digital Transformation Conference, London 2024

Zdravko Mladenov is the Group Chief Digital & Information Officer at the Post Office and has launched and is leading the effort to retire the Horizon system and overhaul legacy technology in place within the Post Office. Zdravko is an ex McKinsey London partner passionate about the power of technology to deliver rapid and transformational business outcomes and will be using his strategic vision to lead the technology, digital and business transformation at the Post Office.

The Digital Transformation Conference on May 9th in London will be welcoming Zdravko as a keynote speaker offering insights on his accountability for covering the run and change of technology, what this looks like and the challenges in doing so especially given recent coverage of the Horizon system failures.

It’s likely considered one of the biggest enterprise transformation projects currently being led in the UK where modernising the legacy technology underpinning 11,500 physical locations will be addressed. Transforming the in-branch technology and business processes through retiring the 34 year old core IT system Horizon and re-designing some of the key underlying operations will deliver the necessary change needed to drive the Post Office into more efficient and effective technology infrastructure and will deliver targeting operating cost savings of 60%.

The conference in which Zdravko will be sharing his insights on his work is focussed around the three core areas that contribute to overall business transformation success all working in harmony.
